《神奇动物在哪里 2》将如何交待邓不利多的同性恋角色设定？

《哈利波特》作者 J. K. Rowling 曾公开证实 Albus Dumbledore 同性恋身份的角色设定，曾经的恋爱对象正是黑巫师 Gellert Grindelwald，而现开始进入后制阶段的《神奇动物在哪里 2》（Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald），故事正正是围绕着 Dumbledore（Jude Law 饰）和 Grindelwald（Johnny Depp 饰）二人，所以这两角色的同性恋关系，成为了不少观众和媒体所关注的问题。近日导演 David Yates 接受《Entertainment Weekly》访问时，便就此问题作出了回应:
Not explicitly, but I think all the fans are aware of that. He had a very intense relationship with Grindelwald when they were young men. They fell in love with each other’s ideas, and ideology and each other.
David Yates 透露今次电影第二集，将不会明确地交待二人的同性恋关系，这说法其实跟 J. K. Rowling 在 2016 年谈及今次电影系列时的说法一致:
I can’t tell you everything, I would like to say because this is obviously a five-part story, so there’s lots to unpack in that relationship.
由于《Fantastic Beasts》是一个五部曲的系列作品，所以故事会慢慢逐一交待邓不利多的转变，包括他跟 Grindelwald 的关系，就让我们期待往后的剧情发展。
