Joel Schumacher 解释当年《Batman Forever》谜语人结局的暗示

纵然 Joel Schumacher 自己也道歉了，但在质疑其 1997 年作品《Batman & Robin》的同时，也别忘记他 1995 年的《Batman Forever》取得的成功，近日他解释了当年《Batman Forever》中反派角色谜语人结局安排的暗示。

I always wanted to do a whole Arkham movie, and did a scene at the end of Batman Forever when Jim is in a straitjacket and Nicole comes to see him. And it was just a nod to back to Arkham Asylum which I love, and I thought it would be fun to put the other villains up there.

Joel Schumacher 在 THR 的采访中，透露他当年拍摄《Batman Forever》的时候，其实也正在计划拍摄一套以 Arkham Asylum 为主题的电影，而 Arkham Asylum 就是 Jim Carrey 在《Batman Forever》中饰演的谜语人，最后被送往囚禁的精神病院兼监狱，这结局安排本来正正是 Joel Schumacher 的一个铺陈。漫画中 Arkham Asylum 位于《Batman》故事的背景地点 Gotham City，小丑 Joker、双面人、急冻人、毒藤女等许多著名反派角色，也曾被关在这里。

言下之意，Joel Schumacher 原本是希望拍摄一个集结不同经典反派的电影故事，可惜最后没有成事。若果当时他的构思能实现，类似《自杀特攻队：Suicide Squad》的电影可能早已出现。
