Ridley Scott 暂定下一套《异形》作品将以 David 或人工智能为主轴
那么人类的先驱工程师（Engineer）的起源呢 …？
早前上映的《异形：圣约》中，异形虽然强势回归，然而故事仿佛回归 70 年代元祖电影，在薄弱又缺乏逻辑的剧情下大受吐嘈，大导 Ridley Scott 似乎在聆听了观众的感言后对下一部《异形》作品有了新的方向。Ridley Scott 在接受 The Empire Film Podcast 的访问时就有以下发表：
I think the evolution of the Alien himself is nearly over, but what I was trying to do was transcend and move to another story, which would be taken over by A.I.’s. The world that the AI might create as a leader if he finds himself onto a new planet. We have actually quite a big layout for the next one.
似乎他认为异形的发展已经到了尽头，接下来故事的主线将移转至人工智能。由 Michael Fassbender 所释演的 David 不单丝丝入扣，而且更在前两部电影中发挥了推动故事的作用，以他（它？）的思维作为故事主轴自然能令电影更有深度，不过前两集所留下来的谜团，包括人类起源、工程师的来历等等，到底何时才能解开呢？
