「Every film should have its own world, a logic and feel to it that expands beyond the exact image that the audience is seeing.」Christopher Nolan 如是说，电影对于 Nolan 来说是一种境界多于电影本身。主修英国文学的 Nolan 从没受过正式的电影学院教育，在 1998 年以首部长作品《The Following》展开其电影生涯，其后与弟弟 Jonathan Nolan 共同创作的《Memento》得到全球注目，凭著「非线性」叙事结构，入围了奥斯卡最佳原著剧本。自此《Dark Knight》3 部曲、《The Prestige》、 《The Dark Knight》、《Inception》以及《Interstellar》慢慢建构出自己制作班底、 Nolan 式的叙事方式以及影象风格，绝对是近代的电影大师。
