Ari Marcopoulos 造访 Dover Street Market 纽约分店

由日本时尚教母川久保玲（Rei Kawakubo）打造的时尚名所 Dover Street Market 于去年年底正式落户纽约，随即便吸引来众多街头时尚爱好者的关注，日前荷兰摄影师兼影片制作人 Ari Marcopoulos 便受邀来到 DSM 纽约店，为店内拍摄了一组摄影作品。Ari 曾于众多明星有过合作，最近的便是帮助 Jay Z 的新专辑《Magna Carta… Holy Grail》拍摄幕后花絮。除了拍摄了一系列照片，让不能有幸亲自到店的朋友大饱眼福，Ari 还接受了 DSMNY 的专访，探讨自己对于艺术的首要目标，他对于这家店的印象，以及他最喜爱的摄影师等等。下面我们便带来这次访谈的节选内容，完整内容不妨查看这里。

There are of course all kinds of photography. What are the primary objectives of your particular photography for you? i.e. Just make a living, create art, tell a story, express a feeling, or other?

“Making a living is part of life so one does that no matter what. There are no singular objectives other then making things that are part of my thoughts.”

I know you love working with film. Why do you prefer it to digital?

“The main difference for me is the latent image, the wait for the film to be developed. Digital allows for immediate inspection and instant reflection resulting into a different way of decision making. It’s not that I don’t like digital but in general I do prefer the alchemical character of film.”
