Hypebeast United Golf and Music at Hypegolf Invitational Japan 2024
Hypebeast, the leading global platform for contemporary culture and lifestyle, recently hosted the Hypegolf Invitational Japan 2024 on November 18, 2024, at The Saintnine Tokyo in Ichihara, Japan, marking its fourth consecutive year. This year’s event embraced the theme “GOLF x MUSIC,” crafting an engaging atmosphere filled with activities that seamlessly blended both worlds.
The event attracted approximately 150 participants, ranging from amateurs to professionals. Notable figures from the fashion, sports, and entertainment industries were in attendance, including MAGGY, YAMATO, Satomi Bianca, and professional athletes like racing drivers Yu Kanamaru and Mira Hasegawa, professional skaters Kenya Okuno and AK-69, Ryotaro Araki of FC Tokyo and others.
Returning as the main sponsor, glo™ collaborated with Hypegolf Japan to offer exclusive giveaways for members of the “B-Lounge” program. Guests received special boxes reminiscent of sneaker shoeboxes, along with unique golf merchandise through a lottery.
A highlight of the event was the showcase of the Rolls-Royce Spectre near the entrance. The Spectre, alongside the blue Cullinan, created a sophisticated backdrop for attendees. Golf brand ESTROSO showcased its rebranded line at a pop-up featuring the latest Fall/Winter 2024 collection. In addition, BEAMS GOLF displayed stylish apparel and accessories, welcoming guests with refreshments from Teto Tewo and coffee from ALLPRESS ESPRESSO.
The tournament featured a 10-hole scramble and a shorter 5-hole round, with Bridgestone Golf equipment provided for all teams. The second hole included a glo™ near-pin challenge, where players aimed for a hole-in-one to win exclusive accommodation tickets. Additional activities included a longest tee shot contest by Rolls-Royce at the 4th hole, where players vied for the “Dragon Prize,” and other engaging experiential holes with challenges like roulette shots and distance guessing shots. After the first round of holes, guests enjoyed disc golf and glo™ putting challenges, along with a cornhole game hosted by eBay, featuring prizes such as original varsity jackets and golf balls.
As the rounds concluded, the 18th hole transformed into a vibrant party space, featuring DJ sets from Kaleido, Mayu Kitazawa, and Licaxxx. Attendees savored a variety of food options, including pizza from Pizzeria Carlino’s, tacos from TAKOBAR, clam chowder and donuts from BAGGAGE CAFE MARKET, coffee and tea from NO FREE COFFEE, BUSHMILLSY highballs from TANK LORRY, Red Bulls drinks, and hot dogs from BABY HOTDOG.
To finish off the special day, a live tuna-cutting demonstration was conducted by a master sushi chef, offering guests a unique culinary experience. Fresh sushi and sashimi were served during the award ceremony, culminating in a live performance by kZm, which thrilled the audience in a glowing dome. Lastly, the Hypegolf Invitational Japan 2024 merged the energy of golf with the rhythm of music, creating unforgettable experiences for all who attended.
