Hypebae is proud to present its 3 year anniversary celebration: Hypebae Fall Formal in New York

To celebrate its 3 year anniversary, Hypebae is creating an immersive 1-day activation dubbed Hypebae Fall Formal on September 5, inspired by a nostalgic, dance party complete with a series of on-site activations that will take place at St Patrick Old Cathedral Youth Center, 268 Mulberry Street, New York.

This large-scale celebration will feature a curated merch store presented by Footaction along with customization workshops where guests in attendance will have the opportunity to cop footwear and apparel. To further enhance the experience, a beauty bar will be stocked with an array of must-have beauty products that will allow guests to facilitate their own unique beauty looks in the process.

Additionally, Hypebae is partnering with contemporary brands for on-site giveaways to guests that includes Footaction, ColourPop, Agent Provocateur, Polaroid, Gelareh Mizhari, Soft Systems, Wolf Circus, Casetify, The M Jewelers, ’47, Alpha Industries, PopSockets and M.A.C Cosmetics. Food and Beverage will be provided by Sticky’s Finger Joint, Baked by Melissa, Diageo, Fiji Water and Fizzy Fox.

“Over the last three years, Hypebae has built a community based on a bold and unconventional approach to fashion and streetwear,” says Zarah Cheng, Editor-in-Chief of Hypbae, “For our 3 Year Anniversary party, we want to host an event where we can bring this collective together and thank our readers for their continued support.”

“We strive to create boundary-pushing content that empowers young individuals and we wouldn’t be able to do that without the inspiring work of the incredible community that we’re surrounded by everyday,” Zarah expresses.

As part of the event, an integral feature will be Hyptalks, a RSVP-only educational-focused panel. Devised into two themes, the first session “The Next Generation of Changemakers,” in partnership with Target. The panel will be comprised of Hillary Taymour of Collina Strada and Marina Testino, an activist and advocate for sustainability. Moderated by entrepreneur Sharifa Murdock, the creative professionals will discuss setting best practices and teachings surrounding sustainability and the future of fashion.

Another vital part of the Hypetalks, will be a second panel dubbed “Creative Control” presented by Footaction that delves into the unique backstories of boundary-breaking, female creatives who are pursuing non-traditional career trajectories. The panel will be comprised of stylist and creative consultant Rachael Wang, designer Pierre Davis of No Sesso and Candace Marie, Social Media Director of Prada. Moderated by founder of Magic in Her Melanin Shavone Charles, the female creatives will offer insight and inspiration on breaking the status quo and serving as proof that there’s no one way to pursue your dreams.

Lastly, the panel will serve as a kick-off, launching a series of on-site activations including sneaker customization workshops in partnership with Footaction and PUMA by Nicole McLaughlin and Sue Tsai, which will grant access to VIPs and attendees who will have the chance to design their own custom footwear in the process.
