早于两年前，Amazon 便宣布已花费 2 亿 5 千万美元买下经典电影《The Lord of the Rings》版权，并即将进行影集版本的全新翻拍，预计至少会推出五季，并投入超高预算，将经典中古巨作重新带回。

今年四月份时，捎来了《The Lord of the Rings》影集将会在八月时于苏格兰进行拍摄，而在拍摄前夕的今时今日，《The Lord of the Rings》影集亦于电视评论协会（Television Critics Association）的巡回媒体会上，公布了其制作团队阵容：

监制：Lindsey Weber（10 Cloverfield Lane）、Gene Kelly（Boardwalk Empire）、Bruce Richmond（Game of Thrones）以及 Sharon Tal Yguado（Amazon 工作室前任主管）
编剧：Gennifer Hutchison（Breaking Bad）、Jason Cahill（The Sopranos）以及 Justin Doble（Stranger Things）
制片顾问：Bryan Cogman（Game of Thrones）、Stephany Folson（Toy Story 4）
